Kiera Skeels, a Year 11 pupil, went to Latvia from 10th to 21st October to play for the England U17 womens' football team. This was the first time she had been selected to play for England, and not only did the team win 3-0 against Scotland, she was also voted 'Woman of the Match'.
"My proudest moment was standing there singing the national anthem. It was an amazing opportunity, and I hope to be selected again and to be successful in my pursuit of an International football career." says Kiera.
Kiera was chosen by the Reading Academy at the age of 12, and at the age of 14 went to the Southampton Regional Talent Club.
"This was an amazing experience for her and we wish her the best of luck with her international football career." says Clere School PE Teacher, Corinne King.
