The Clere School Parent Teacher Association
The Clere Parent Teacher Association is run by a group of enthusiastic parents and teachers who are all keen to support the school with fundraising and events for the school community. All parents and guardians of a pupil of the Clere School, all teachers and ancillary staff and all members of the Governing Body receive automatic membership of the Association and are welcome to join our meetings and to get involved in whatever way they can.
Our aim is twofold, to generate and distribute funds for items to enhance school facilities and also providing social opportunities for all members of the school community.
The PTA is a registered charity and operates in accordance with a formal constitution. Members holding an office are elected each year at the AGM which is held in September, though members are welcome to join throughout the year.
We would like to propose that during the coming year, you volunteer a little of your free time, equivalent to an hour per month, focussing on encouraging the progress of your child whilst at the Clere by becoming involved with the school PTA either as a member of the committee or a helper. It is not an onerous task, we meet one every half term, for a short hour long meeting and organise three fundraising events per year. Current committee members all have full time jobs and so our free time is limited too.
For those for whom free time is a precious commodity, perhaps you would like to show your support by becoming a member of our 100 Club. This is a lottery type scheme, approved by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council. For an annual sum of £20 your name will be entered into a monthly draw to win 45% of the takings of the whole scheme, for 10 months of the year commencing in December.
