Year 7 Catch Up

Year 7 ‘Catch Up’ Funding and Support

2018 to 2019

Allocation: £6,000

This funding allowed us to provide all Year 7’s identified upon entry as having low literacy or numeracy levels at Key Stage 2 with extra support.

The pupils in the targeted literacy group received intensive support from a qualified English Teacher in small intervention groups, and enrolled on the Accelerated Reader programme, to raise their reading and writing National Curriculum levels.

The pupils in the targeted numeracy group received support from a qualified Mathematics Teacher in small intervention groups to raise their numeracy National Curriculum levels.

The school has purchased additional literacy and numeracy resources to support Year 7 learners.

The school provides support for our new Year 7’s to attend our Summer Holiday Club prior to joining to better prepare these students for September, to ensure good progress is made at KS3.

2019 to 2020

The Year 7 Catch Up premium for the academic year 2019 to 2020 is estimated to be approximately £6,000. This will be spent similarly to 2018 to 2019.
