The Clere Equestrian Team Jumps to Success

The Clere School equestrian team participated in its first school show jumping competition on Saturday 18 March 2017. The competing team (Claudia Burton and Jak Loving in Year 7, Oscar Hobby in Year 8 and Arthur Hobby in Year 10) went down to Wickstead Farm in Eastrop for St Hugh’s School NSEA KBIS Show Jumping Qualifier.

They had a fantastic round with Claudia, Jak and Oscar all jumping clear. Oscar jumped the fastest round and came First individually.  Jak also had a fast round finishing sixth individually. The team finished fifth overall, qualifying for the NSEA Championship Plate 2017. This was an amazing result for the school’s first team outing, competing against 120 other children.

“I am very keen to provide these fantastic opportunities for our pupils and to participate in such wonderful events. I hope the equestrian team continues to go from strength to strength after a very strong performance this weekend.” says Headteacher, Benjamin Bond.
