Year 11 Prom – Friday June 21st – Esseborne Manor Hotel
On a beautifully sunny summers evening, we gathered to celebrate and say our farewells to our “Class of 2019” at Esseborne Manor Hotel in Hurstbourne Tarrant. An amazing array of colours and styles of suits and dresses greeted us, as students arrived in some top of the range vehicles. It was clear that a great deal of time and planning had gone into the event and students were ready to enjoy themselves with their friends and staff.
After the fantastic group photos had been captured by parents and family members and our photographer for the night, Mr Piper, we entered the hotel, where staff had helped us to decorate the room with balloons, party poppers, glow bands and personalised seating name-plates, ready for the night. Students consumed arrival drinks, followed by an extensive buffet menu, which the prom committee had arranged. After this, the night was all about dancing, letting their hair down and spending time with the friends that they had shared the school experience with for the last five years.
In a change to the norm, the dance floor seemed to be dominated by the boys, many of whom had prepared their own group routines in a throwback to the sixties and seventees music scene. The evening passed in good humour, with much of it spent in the beautiful grounds of Esseborne Manor.
I would like to thank all staff who took time to welcome the students in at the event and especially those colleagues who spent much if not all of the evening socialising with the students, taking photographs and making their final school event so special and memorable.
Once again, the students were an absolute credit to themselves, the school and their families.
