Admissions

We welcome applications from parents of students who believe that The Clere School is the right school for their child.

The majority of our students come to us from our primary feeder schools: Ashford Hill, Burghclere, Eccinwell and Sydmonton, Hurstbourne Tarrant, Kingsclere, St Martin’s East Woodhay, Vernham Dean Gillum’s and Woolton Hill.  We also admit many students who choose to come to us from a wider area. Year 6 parents who are seeking a place as part of the usual transfer to secondary school should apply using the Hampshire County Council online system (link below).

In-year admissions are those which take place other than at the start of Year 7. If you wish to make an in-year application please contact our Mrs Deevey for more information by email at i.deevey@clere.school or by telephoning the school on 01635 278372. You can also apply online for a place via the Hampshire County Council website (see Applying for In-Year place link below). Please see our Admissions Policy (under Policies) for further details. Once the school receive your application you will be notified the outcome within ten school days.

Any parent and carer who has been refused a school place for their child has the right to appeal the decision.  The Independent Appeals Service manages appeals for The Clere School.  To make an appeal please visit www.hants.gov.uk/educationandlearning/admissions/guidance/appeals to complete the online form or contact Hampshire Admissions Team on 0300 555 1377 to request an appeal pack by post.
